Please keep the tape rollin', boys keep strumming those guitars.
We need a record of our failures, we must document our loves.
[Psst. And so it never started and it will never stop just like I am and you are.]
Travel and discontent go hand in hand. I dislike my city. I rescind some comments about Chicago being failcago. It's still got its weak points: Shitty drivers, wind, Ryan Luciani. But it's also got some strong points: History, CTA, nice bars.
I didn't care for the venue's neighborhood, or the venue all that much but it was the secondary concern, really. The weekend was full of TWSS and high-fives for our awesomeness. I solemnly swear I am never doing a non-red-eye to Toronto again. That flight drags.
Writing up the concert and whatnot later. It's time to mainline coffee right now.

You should see my decoupage...
Today I saw an unusually large bucket of cottage cheese while I was walking through the basement. I don't want to to know why it was there, who bought it, or what might have actually been in it. I just know that I hate these engineers.
Yesterday, I had to play movie quote dictionary for two of them. They kept coming up with stuff I hadn't seen. Like Team America. Look, I like puppet sex as much as the next person [which is to say "Not at all!"] but the part where the puppet kept puking? Gross, no thank you.
More How I Met Your Mother last night after picking up toothpaste and Starbucks. I really can't get enough of Barney's depravity. Honestly though? If I lived in New York City? I'd probably be just as creative as him in getting people into bed. Fortunately I'm a girl. And girls don't have to work for it.
I'm seeing Empires for the first time this weekend. If the world continues spinning like I think it will, it'll be one of my last chances to see them in a tiny-ass club. Also, I can't take anybody seriously today.
Family Guy Quote of the Day: Sorry, Kids. Daddy loves you, but Daddy also loves TV, and TV was here first.

I know, I know. I want! I'm pretty much in love with two things on the Urban Outfitters site.

and

Yeah, I'm actually super lame and no one is surprised. Things like this make me wish I lived in Edmonton or Vancouver, because then I could buy them and my life would be complete. Let's be honest, that Charlie Brown tree? More room for presents!
So, Chapters is going well. I'm secretly kind of in love with books. I keep doing re-shelve or tasking and finding books that I'm like "Hm, I want to read this." But I'm being very careful about not buying everything I see or I'd definitely need to buy a new bookshelf right away.
I already need a new bookshelf. As soon as I move out, I'll probably look into getting this:

because it can handle LPs and oversized books. I'll likely get it in black, though. I might grab a storage basket or two for the miscellaneous 45s and headphones and cords and whatnot that I have.
I'm finally getting a physical copy of Howl, that's pretty awesome. Or odd, depending on who you're talking to.
This week is going to be a little more relaxed than last week. In no particular order, I must:

This week is going to be a little more relaxed than last week. In no particular order, I must:
- Change my car's oil
- Get a quote on repairing the driver's side door of my car
- Take wire CD rack to Meghan
- Rip some more CDs to my laptop
- Pick up the last of my Christmas shopping: 1 physical gift card, 3 online orders of gift cards, and 1 gift for the boy who has everything except me.
- Get a hair cut
- Wrap Christmas gifts
- Write 3000 words
- Obtain a copy of How I Met Your Mother Season 1/2
I might also buy The Bro Code, because that shit is awesome. For example:
A bro's mom is off-limits at all times, unless she's a step-mother, she initiates it and is wearing leopard print.
You really can't make that up, can you?

Quiet now, you're sucking the charm out.
That's what she said!
No, but apparently that's what some boys say.
I was in a pretty salty mood because my boss is salty today and she tends to treat everyone like crap when she feels like that. But the way she was being made me feel like it was my fault she was upset. HO NO, not the case. She's pissed at Oliver.
Yay!
I'm mainlining coffee this week like it's going out of style. It is, kind of.
Last night, I saw SawV with Meghan and while most people said "Too much killing, not enough backstory!" I said "loves me some backstory! Pls to be telling me more about *********'s sordid past!"
I'm pretty much awesome at not giving spoilers.
UGH. I'm so unimpressed with courier companies today. FedEx and UPS can eat poop. I definitely just hung up on the asshole UPS guy, he doesn't deserve to share the phone line with me. Richard also doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as me.
My Christmas shopping is almost done. I just have to go pick up Meghan's, a few random gift cards, and actually sit down and do a small amount of online ordering. HA, Meghan, you didn't really think I'd buy your present right in front of you, did you?

A list, in no particular order:
1. It's been brought to my attention that someone thinks I'm sad, which is not the case at all. Nine times out of ten, the mean/angry/bitter/sad things I say on here aren't meant as such. Intonation is key. Picture me actually saying it. I promise that I'm happy.
2. My boss is out of town for 4 more work days. I don't want to do work on any of those days.
3. If you haven't downloaded this, I effectively cease our friendship. I dare you to listen to Believe and not picture someone playing it to you while you both sit on a couch, barefoot, the listener watching closely, the performer with their head ducked and not making eye contact. I dare you.
4. I really want a Sunbeam Heated Blanket and I can't find them anywhere. I blame summer.
5. I really, really can't work with kids anymore. I have to get away from teenage drama.
6. I'm going to be twenty-three in a few weeks. This is more exciting to me than it should be.

I'm failing pretty hard at real life today. My cabbie at noon drove three extra blocks and tried to jack my fare up. I wasn't impressed.
I found out my little brother is getting bullied at school and it made me think of the past and how much I really don't miss it. The future is now. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Bonus points for this reference: I will not sit idly by as the events that affect me unfold to change the course of my life. I will take a stand and I will defend it.
You fools, Soylent Green is people!
I'll likely be resigning from the theatre in the next few weeks. It's just more prudent given current circumstances. I'll miss it, though. I've worked there for more than seven years and for seven years I've been able to define myself as someone who has better taste in movies than the average person walking into a multiplex.
I bet you didn't know we judge you, did you? We're so much worse than the asshole at the record store because we judge you multiple times on the same visit. We judge you when you purchase your tickets for Speed Racer, we judge you when you get your ticket ripped at the door podium and meander into Speed Racer, and we judge you when we see you walk out of Speed Racer as we go to clean it. Don't think we don't notice how you can't even meet our eyes at the end of the film. Go cry in the restroom and put cigarettes out on your thighs for that hour and half you just wasted.
It seems I've fulfilled my bitterness quote for the day, so I leave you with this
